Finished Object Friday: Resurrecting the Past

It has been some time since I posted one of these, but I thought it would be a good way to present my completed items here.

So far this year, I have finished seven projects out of about 50 planned this year.

Finished Object Friday: Sweet Pea, Belmont, Epipa Cabled Booties, and a Sneak Peek at Saint Catherine of Alexandria

I have a lot of almost finished items right now, but only four that are completed this year so far. One is this little car seat blanket I made for some friends of ours who recently had their sixth baby.

It is the Sweet Pea Baby Blanket, and I used some stash Fantasy Naturale Multi yarn. It is a nice, washable cotton.

I have also crocheted a pair of boot cuffs. I messed up a little on my reading of the directions on the first one, but I didn't want to undo the work I had done, and they didn't look bad, so I just recreated the errors on the second one.

Here are a pair of booties I made for Nejat. The pattern was in German, but there were translations online that I used.

This one is a sneak preview. I have been working on a design for another One Skein book, this one for babies, and this is what I have made. I used the lace heart motif from a stitch pattern book and came up with a lovely little design for a baby.

You'll have to check in later to see if it makes it into the book.

This past year was a huge year, in terms of creating, for me. I was able to step back from many things, was forced to really, and enjoyed being able to use my hands to make things. I'm not sure I'll be able to accomplish as much this year, with no enforced rest, but I am enjoying creating more still.

Finished Object Friday: June 19

Mr. Linky has a new server, which I am trying out today. I will try to reload my old linkies to the new server and hope that they all show up.

We have finished packing several boxes and will be continuing over the next few weeks. If anyone who is local is interested in bringing boxes, helping pack or cleaning up, we definitely would appreciate it.

Finished Object Friday: June 5

Mr. Linky still seems to be having trouble, and so do I. It is considerably harder for me to finish things lately, with our school and family schedule. We are in that wrap up time of the year for all the childrens' activities, so there are play-offs, rehearsals and picnics and we just seem to be running all the time. Since we're also dealing with some other challenges here right now, it is a little harder to find the time to work on projects for myself.

If you have one or more finished items this week, please sign Mr. Linky below and share all you have made. I should have had a post up already about my finished object this week. It is late, however. Watch this space for more information. Well, that didn't happen. And Mr. Linky is still having trouble. I've tried something different to see if it will show up at all.

I was hoping to have a knit project to show off here this week. However, with all the turmoil we've had recently, I haven't had as much time (which was already limited) to work on it.

Finished Object Friday: May 1

Happy May Day! Today is the feast day of St. Joseph the Worker, one of two feast days for St. Joseph. So, enjoy your work, try to notice the flowers and share your creative work here. We are on our way to a homeschool conference this weekend to learn more and pick up some material for next year.

Finished Object Friday: April 24

My new plan is to set these to post weeks in advance, editing them to add anything I may have finished. This is so I can get back into the habit of posting this weekly, so others can count on it being here. So, new policy is that something will be posted by 12:00 a.m. Fridays, even if it is only Mr. Linky for people to link.

Finished Object Friday: Almost

Well, I had something I was hoping would be finished for this week's report, but no luck. Maybe I can show you next week. In the meantime, we are getting ready for a weekend trip to visit some friends and celebrate Elijah's birthday.

Finished Object Friday: Amira's Pillow

So, I didn't post last week. I haven't been very good at consistency here. Also, participation is down. Should I keep doing this? You tell me.

Anyway, I did finish something last week! Late Saturday night, I finished this:

I started working on it before I had Yasmina. I did some of the sewing and then got stuck on the piping. Cutting the bias strip was a little scary for me. Rich encouraged me, and I did it and everything went fairly well after that. I gave it to Amira on Sunday, rather than on her birthday, as that was her day for a party and presents. She is in love with it. How could she not be? It is pink with flowers and purple and a bow!

Finished Object Friday: Still Here

I may have some knitting news for you all soon. However, for now, I'm still at a big fat zero on finished objects. Could someone share what they have finished so I can live vicariously through you?

Finished Object Friday: No Report

I'm just getting this up so people can add to it if they wish. I will have to fill in my sad, little report later.

I'm back. My major finished project this week was my Daring Baker's Challenge. I finished a media fast on Wednesday, since I couldn't do the strict fast, which included newspapers, cds, cell phone, iPod, radio and internet. It was not as hard as I thought it would be, though I almost blew it on accident a couple times.

Finished Object Friday: Normalcy

This week, I have finished making six dozen cranberry pumpkin muffins, six loaves of bread and two quarts of yogurt. We got some plants up out of the garden so Rich can turn over the rest of the soil and plants down there. We're back to schooling this week after our vacation. That's pretty much it here. How about you?

Finished Object Friday: Blog News

Sorry this is late publishing. I had it in the drafts folder instead of scheduled.

We have finished packing all the children's things for a trip. We will be away for a little while and I will only be posting occasionally, if at all. No menu plan this next week and some scheduled posts are all I have planned, so far.

Finished Object Friday: Just Desserts

This is what I have finished this week. Although there must be other things that were finished this week, I have a hard time thinking of what they were. There has been very little knitting, no crocheting or sewing around here. I did a lot of baking and making of food staples for us: two loaves of soda bread, two loaves of oatmeal bread, one loaf of semolina bread, five loaves of sandwich bread, 24 khoubz Araby, three dozen raspberry jam thumbprints, two quarts of yogurt (why is it we speak in quarts about yogurt, rather than just say a half gallon?), a double recipe of mayonnaise and a large batch of hummus along with the tuiles, gelato and dip.

Finished Object Friday: I Hope You Have Something

Well, Tuesday night Rich succumbed to whatever it is that we all have had. He'd gotten away with queasiness and exhaustion the week before, but got it full on this week. Today he returns to work, though he is still pretty week and feeling sick still. At least he works close to home. Please pray for him as he gets back to work.

Finished Object Friday: You Don't Want to Know

Not surprisingly, the whole everyone has been violently ill in my house thing has kept me from finishing my sleeveless top. Which is a problem since the hot and sunny days have arrived. Anyway. We're holding on here. Rich just left for his first seminary class and we're trying to get back to sleep, since we don't have anywhere we have to be for a little while.
