Works for Me Wednesday: Cleaning the Microwave
Perhaps everyone knows this already, but a really easy and quick way to keep your microwave clean is to put a glass measuring cup filled with hot water and baking soda (I usually do a third soda and two thirds water) and heat it for two to three minutes, then wipe down the walls, the door, the top and the base. If you do this every few days, or at least once a week, it should stay clean and free of most odors.
Lessening the workload in any way at all, works for me!

As I was reading WFMW, I put a measuring cup of water in the microwave to clean it! I hadn't thought of the baking soda, though. I may have to go dump some in and re-microwave! Plus, that will give me more time to read WFMW!
A clean microwave is one of my biggest pet peeves. So much so that I rarely have to clean mine! I put a lid on everything. I have two microwave dishes and we use those almost exclusively to heat any food.
However, I have helped clean other peoples microwaves before and this definitely works!!

I have heard of boiling water in the microwave to clean it, but never heard of putting baking soda in the water. I'll have to try it.
