Say it with a Straight Face

"When you take things to the courts you don't have the opportunity to engage the public in the process. You don't have the ability to build a movement," said Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Kate Looby.

Did the interviewer laugh? Did Kate Looby? Maybe they were making a joke.

Hmmm...maybe it's not so laughable. It could be they've decided that relying on the courts was their failure.

Some people who support abortion rights have been arguing that relying on Roe vs. Wade was a bad strategic move.
While that is possible, I doubt it. If that were the case, I do not think that PP would fight so hard against anything that has a whiff of overturning Roe-v-Wade, neither do I think their statements on judges would support the theory that they are rethinking the wisdom of using the courts to achieve a certain means. Also, as I understand it, S. Dakota voted in this law.
