Menu Plan: June 10 - June 16
We cannot receive the Eucharist where we go to church here, so that was kind of hard, but the week before, Trinity Sunday, we were able to attend a church in our communion and worship with people who are like family to us as well as receive the Eucharist during the service. We could truly share our lives with them as well and were able to have them pray for and with us about both Rich's dad and our own loss. We just passed both the date we would have delivered and the due date for Rayan. It has been a hard couple weeks here.
My father in law is out of the hospital, they are narrowing down the primary cancer and trying to get him well enough to deal with the kidney before they move on to the serious cancer treatment. We were able to help set up a hospital room for him at home and Rich, his brother, some other family and friends built wheel chair ramps to get into their house and into the living area. He is having a hard time keeping any food down and is still quite weak. However, the swelling is down in his legs, which may mean that the blood thinners are working. Please keep him and my mother in law in your prayers.
This is our last week of school, officially, but because we took some time off without school to help Rich's folks, the older boys are going to be doing two more weeks of Latin and history to finish up their books. At least it's a light schedule. Speaking of schedules, here is our menu plan for the week. Some friends had a huge box of lettuce delivered to them, so they split it with us. We're eating lots of salad this week.
Since next week has both Father's Day and two birthdays in it, we're gearing up for lots of treats and extra special foods.
