Zig Zag Sweater and Ribbed Hat

I have finally gotten over the sleeve and neckband hump on Dominic's sweater. What should have been his Christmas present is likely to be his birthday present in a few weeks. I have finished the first sleeve and the neckband and yesterday picked up the sleeve stitches for the other sleeve and got a few rounds finished on the way to church. The pattern had quite short sleeves, either that or our children have really long arms. Rather than knitting about an inch without decreasing on the smaller needles, I had to knit about four more inches to make sure he wouldn't grow out of it before fall.

I also cast on and knit in a couple nights a 4 X 2 ribbed hat over the weekend. I won't say for whom this is intended, as it is a Christmas present, and for someone who reads this blog occasionally. After that, I began a baby blanket for our new little one. I could not think of something appropriate to knit for an August baby, so decided that a blanket would be useful, pretty and a way to wrap up the little one with love.

So, although I cast on and started the ribbing on my second sock, I haven't done much in progress on it, because I really want to get Dominic's sweater finished and make decent progress on the baby blanket, so there was a chance it would be finished by baby's birthday.

Pictures will be forthcoming tomorrow.
